General information

Are you taking medications that don’t work for you?
DNA testing can help you find out!

This benefit empowers you and your doctors with genetic information that may improve which medications you are prescribed. These results may reduce unnecessary side effects, adverse drug reactions that can lead to hospitalizations and improve how you feel every day.

TRS’s Personalized Medicine pharmacogenomics program targets potential genetic reactions related to seven areas of prescriptions: pain, depression, blood thinners, cancer, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and acid reflux.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration maintains a list of more than 300 medications that are believed to be processed differently by individuals because of their DNA. This means some patients, because of genetic variants, are likely to have altered drug metabolism, and, in certain cases, differential therapeutic effects, including differences in risks of adverse events.
