Dr. Ben Littlepage and Corey Chesnut each won terms on the TRS Board of Trustees in this year’s members’ election.
The four-year terms begin July 1.
Littlepage, of Madisonville, was elected to a second term as a TRS
active teacher trustee. He is a professor for Murray State University’s master’s in higher education and student affairs program. He joined the College of Education and Human Services in 2013. Prior to Murray State, Littlepage was a higher education administrator for nine years. Littlepage holds a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Memphis and a master’s in student affairs from Western Kentucky University.
Chesnut, of Barbourville, was elected as a lay trustee. Chesnut is president
of Hometown Bank in Corbin. He previously served as executive vice president and chief banking officer and has more than 15 years in banking in Southeastern Kentucky. Chesnut earned a master’s degree in business administration from Union College and a bachelor’s in business administration from Eastern Kentucky University. He is also a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University and the Southeastern School of Banking at Vanderbilt University. Chesnut is a Knox County native.
The Board of Trustees consists of 11 members: seven elected by the membership (four active teachers, one retiree, two lay trustees); two appointed by the governor with investment experience; the state treasurer; and the state education commissioner.
